James, a wildly funny man, a good friend. I hope that wherever you are there is a ski slope and copious amounts of a good barolo.

I had the honor to work briefly with James. JB as we used to call him was a true gentleman and a great coach. It came as a surprise that such a lively soul is no more. I send my condolences to his family and wish and pray that his soul remains rest in peace forever , amen. JB , you'll be missed - 'Sir!' 😞

I first met Jim on B shift at High Wycombe station in 2003 and we became friends. I then seemed to follow Jim's career for the next for the next ten years, quite literally. Firstly I followed him into the area intel team then into the SB team and later when we left the police to set up our own business together. I was still in touch and friends with Jim when I heard this terrible news. He had an incredible intellect and huge capacity for long hours of hard work. This was not always obvious to those around him as he absolutely always had a laid back and jokey demeanor that made it seem like he was just in the common room at school between lessons, messing about. I echo the comments made below about his appetite for mischief and irrepressible sense of humour. I'd even say he had a zest for life. Matt's section in the funeral service about Blackadder was bang on point. We used to spend many hours working on various operations or in a van together, trading Blackadder jokes. So much so we ended up with the adopting the nicknames for each other of Baldrick and Melchit. No guesses for which one was Jim. Much love to his family. My thoughts are with you all at this difficult time. And much love to you Jim. One thing's for sure mate. We will never forget you.
